ICW Eastern Africa is implementing a Sexual and Reproductive Rights advocacy programme in partnership with ICW Southern Africa to build an advocacy strategy cross regionally in 2010. It addresses maternal health priorities for women living with HIV, bring together our advocacy strategy from local priorities & establish an advocacy mechanism from grassroots to international levels of advocacy. It integrates the politics of the funding environment. The programme is implemented in 9 countries including Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The main activities include capacity building in advocacy, policy dialogues and press conferences at national level. This first phase was concluded with a regional meeting bringing participants in each country from the two regions to develop a shared advocacy strategy. Young women are at the forefront. This project is funded by Norad. As part of this programme ICW Eastern Africa &ICW Southern Africa have secured a partnership with UNAIDS & the Global Fund.
