World AIDS Day Statement, 1st December 2022

Violence against Women and girls is a cause and consequence of HIV because it is one of the key drivers behind the increasing numbers of women and girls living with HIV. Violence places women and girls at risk through trafficking, sexual violence, sexual exploitation, child marriage and other harmful practices. The duo tragedy in gender inequalities that Women and girls living with HIV face deeply aggravates their suffering.
