Our Executive Director Lilian Mworeko, together with government representatives, Civil Society Organisations, communities affected by HIV/AIDS, development partners, and young people attended the #PEPFARCOP23 Regional Planning Meetings (RPM) in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Meetings was to deliberate on the next 2 years Country Operational Plans.

During the meeting, she emphasized that the greatest way to end AIDS by 2030 is to give people the power to make their own HIV prevention CHOICES, with a particular focus on women, girls, & young women who still face barriers to accessing HIV prevention tools.

The need of partnering with & empowering the local communities to support the HIV/TB response is being emphasized at the #PEPFARCOP23 Regional Planning Meetings (RPM).

Any organization (that is serious about eradicating HIV in children) needs to have a clear plan, commitment, & targets for giving PrEP to pregnant & breastfeeding mothers in order to ensure that children are not at danger of HIV infection & reinfection” pointed out Lilian.

PEPFAR Ambassador Dr. John Nkengasong emphasized throughout #PEPFARCOP2023 meeting the significance of working with & empowering local communities to support the HIV/TB response.
