The International Community of Women living with HIV in Eastern Africa joins the rest of the world to Commemorate 2020 World AIDS Day.

On this day, ICWEA continues to applaud the Global Partnership on ending all forms of HIV related stigma and discrimination.

This is what 2020 World AIDS Day theme is about, “GLOBAL SOLIDARITY, SHARED RESPONSIBILITY “.

States/nations, Institutions/Organizations, UN and Biretarals all playing a role towards ending all forms of stigma and discrimination & all forms of violence against women and girls & respecting and protecting human rights of all human beings is what the theme calls for.

The 2020 World AIDS Day theme, GLOBAL SOLIDARITY, SHARED RESPONSIBILITY only reminds us of the principle of contributory responsibility and that we all share gains and losses made if we don’t pay attention and play our role especially when it’s within our mandate.

To end AIDS by 2030, ending violence against women and girls; protection of human rights and ending all forms of HIV and COVID19 related stigma and discrimination are precursors.

GLOBAL SOLIDARITY, SHARED RESPONSIBILITY is an accountability call to nations and states that all people in all their diversity are equal. It is a call to action to work together to have a fair, just and a world where equality is in the vicinity.
